Fabric experts continues to deliver bold and figure flattering streetwear after 40+ years
Ever since its inception 1976, the Spanish family company Aldomartins has designed and manufactured its show-stopping streetwear in Barcelona. In its 40+ years of trading, this label has successfully established itself as one of the top street fashion labels in Europe and the U.S. This week we’re taking a closer look at what else makes this brand so well deserving of its rack space at Quirkee Birds.
Experts in jacquard and intarsia (fabrics created by mixing threads to create drawings within the fabric), Aldomartins are known for their extraordinary knits with delightful patterns, bold colours and memorable textures.
But how do they continue to stay current after all these years?
Martí Bisbal, director at Aldomartins says “The production takes place in Catalonia, either in the own factory, in which there are about 65 employees [2012], or in subcontracted workshops.” And by keeping the production facilities close to home, Aldomartins are able to continue the innovation with creative production techniques, while staying loyal to their high level of quality and outstanding individuality.
Aldomartins pieces flatter the figure through minimalistic and sophisticated cuts, adding attitude to the look with interesting patterns, bold colours and memorable textures.
Styling tip
Complete an Aldomartins outfit with modern, minimalist jewelry that aligns with the clean line shapes without contradicting the bold colouring and patterns in the fabrics. And voilà, with an adventurous yet sophisticated look, you’re ready for a great day!
