It was 1977. In New York City. Jerry Hirsch, creative businessman, film maker and entrepreneur—together with a silk manufacturer– formed a sportswear business. His idea was to create everyone’s favorite casual garments, like jeans and sweatshirts, but to create them more luxuriously and elegantly by making them in silk.
